It’s the time of year to give thanks and enjoy Thanksgiving weekend! Part of the festivities often includes a Thanksgiving feast. Is your Thanksgiving Feast good for your teeth? We’re breaking down the pros and cons of a few key items on your Thanksgiving table!
Turkey: packed with protein, but can sometimes get stuck between your teeth. Flossing after your Thanksgiving meal will help make prevent bacteria build-up in your mouth.
Cranberry sauce: This Thanksgiving traditional item is naturally tart, so often sugar is added to balance it out. Due to the acidity, be sure to eat this with the meal and not on its own.
Yams: rich in Vitamins A and C, which contribute to keeping your gums healthy! If the yams are candied, be sure to enjoy them in moderation.
Pumpkin Pie: contains Vitamin A, which is helpful in building tooth enamel. Enjoy this once-a-year treat. Be sure to hydrate with water after and wash away any leftover food in your mouth.
